"I first met Dr. Bausone in 2006 when I took my bulldog in for an acupuncture treatment. The vet I normally saw for acupuncture was not available, so I was scheduled with “Dr. B” and it was the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship. Over the last 14 years Dr. B has treated all my dogs and cats, and his combination of western and eastern medicine is just one of the many things that has kept me a loyal client. He is conservative in his approach and doesn’t rush to recommend invasive procedures as his first course of action. Being a holistic practitioner, he believes in first giving an animal a chance to heal themselves by providing them with the necessary support whether that be with nutritional counseling, acupuncture, laser therapy, herbal remedies, or prescription medication. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience, but it is his bedside manner that I find equally valuable. He is so patient and kind with all animals, and I have never seen him lose that patience even when I’ve had to muzzle a dog in order for him to complete an exam. His level of empathy and compassion for animals is unmatched, in my experience.
I have such confidence in Dr. Bausone that I recommend him to all my friends, and also recommended him to become one of the primary rescue vets for Southern California Bulldog Rescue. A challenge he has risen to with his usual excellence and compassion."

"To say Dr. Bausone aka Dr. B is an amazing veterinarian is an understatement. I have been taking my pets to see him for the past 10 years, and there would be no one else I would entrust with their care. "Dr. Bausone has been our vet since 2009. He has treated all 6 of our dogs ( including the 4 that we presently have). It is because of his outstanding veteriany skills that our 1st dog, Minnie was able to live an additional 2 1/2 years after her kidney disease diagnoses. Minnie was originally given 3-6 months to live. Because of Dr. B ‘s compassionate care, Minnie was able to live an additional 2 1/2 years. Our border collie, Vegas was able to enjoy a long life of 16 1/2 years in spite of spondylitis of the spine, nerve sheath carcinoma, kidney disease and MCT. Under Dr. B’s care, the kidney disease was managed, the nerve sheath carcinoma and MCT never returned. Dr. B is an extremely talented Holistic vet dedicated to keeping our pets healthy."

“I’ve known Dr. Bausone for 20 years. I was the lead avian/exotic tech at Acacia Animal Health Center at the time, and since that was one of his specialties and passions, we worked closely together for many years - until I retired in 2017.
Dr. B always treated the entire staff with respect and courtesy. Veterinary medicine can be very stressful. His sense of humor made life a lot easier. He never took himself too seriously and was always approachable. His manner with the patients always seemed to calm them. He is never one to rush into a procedure, always making sure the patient is stable first. The patient always comes first. He is equally calm and patient with the clients, empathizing with the stress and worry they are under with their precious pets.
Not only have I worked with Dr. B, but I have been his client. For many years he has treated all my animals: birds, iguanas, cats and dogs. He used acupuncture and VOM on my feather picking macaw, my arthritic cat and dogs. He saw my Amazon parrot through years of severe, chronic respiratory and liver disease, giving her an extended and higher quality of life before she finally passed away. Currently he is treating my 13 year old Chihuahua with Congestive Heart Failure. All my animals have been rescues and thus have had a variety of illnesses.
He is honest, empathic and caring. But most of all he is very good at what he does. He stays current not only on all the latest western veterinary modalities but also the latest in alternative medicine techniques. The highest compliment I can pay him is that I plan to travel the extra distance to continue to take my pet to him."

"It has been my pleasure to work with Carmine Bausone, DVM, for the last 20 years. My first appointment with him was in 2000 for my rabbit, Skye, when she received a serious injury to her face. Dr. Bausone performed Laser Surgery to repair her wound and she quickly recovered. Since that day, I worked with Doctor Bausone for the medical care of hundreds of rabbits. Not only my own but also those from the local House Rabbit Society where I was a volunteer. His use of complimentary therapies, including acupuncture, lasers, chiropractic, and Chinese medicines were often the final options for a positive outcome. "I met Dr. B in late 2017. My precious Toffee Nut was fighting a losing battle with aggressive mast cell cancer. I knew he would not beat it, so it was important that I do everything I could to keep him comfortable and as healthy as possible for his days remaining. Dr. B was a God-send. He introduced us to Chinese Herbs and Mushroom and helped us create a home-cooked diet that was the best possible. Toffee lived a really good 7 months post surgery. After he passed away, my female began struggling with hip pain and allergies. Dr. B has patiently helped navigate both Eastern and Western approaches to insure she lives her best life. Both of my dogs thought Dr. B hung the moon. So do I."

"Dr. Bausone is one of our primary rescue vets for the San Diego Chapter of Southern California Bulldog Rescue (SCBR). “Dr. B” as we call him, loves our smush faced bullies, despite the fact that they provide him with a lot of medical challenges. He has a gentle but fun rapport with our dogs and he always has plenty of patience and delicious treats for those that are feeling a little timid or fearful. He has been most generous with our rescue as one of his missions is to give back and help animals that find themselves without a home and in need of help and compassion.
Dr. Bausone’s combination of western and eastern medicine modalities is a huge asset as many bulldogs suffer from chronic allergies and other issues and the answer some times can not be found with western medicine alone, so we always appreciate his well rounded approach to caring for our dogs.
